Html Linking

Html linking is one of the most important things that any new webmaster can learn to do correctly. Html linking is my art, I can't draw you a picture or sculpt you a masterpiece but I can teach you how to link. The first thing to learn about linking is that you have to already know the keywords you are going after. What I mean by keywords is really a key phrase. People have been conditioned by the lack of machines or specifically a search engine to read their minds. When you go to a search engine to find something you type in "how do I make money" you don't type in "money" and expect the search engine to guess what you are really searching for. People search for phrases not words, and you need to learn what those phrases are, how they relate to your site and then with this lesson how to use the phrases as your anchor text. Let me also point out that most people are lazy and will try to search for the fewest possible words to avoid having to type. In the example I will use here, the phrase I am using as is a simple two word phrase html linking because people are lazy. I am not going after the phrase "how do I make links using html linking", because I know that while you or I may search for that phrase if that was the information we were after the majority of people will not.

Anchor text is the words that are used as the actual hyperlink. In the link above the anchor text is "html linking". One of the most common things that I see new webmaster do is use either link that looks like this "to find out more about html linking click here" with the "click here" as the anchor text, or use a phrase like "I wanted to learn about html linking so I went to this site http://www..........", With the name of the site as the anchor text. Neither one of those is an effective link, and while every link is a good link, if you are going to spend your time building links to your site then you should take the time to use the correct anchor text and the correct keywords.

I hope that most of you find this information useful, but I know that it can be confusing. If you have any questions about how to link you can leave a comment below and I will do my best to answer each and every one of them. These lessons are to teach the very basics of internet marketing so anyone who has been around for a while will probably not get as much use out of them as some other people do. But even some experienced people need to be reminded of the basics once in a while, maybe not about html linking, but some of other fundamental challenges of internet marketing. If there is anything constructive you can add as an experienced pro please also feel free to leave comments and suggestions. If there are any other immediate aspects of internet marketing that you are just dying to know about then let me know and I will do my best to get the information out.

How many links should you include in one article? I've heard one or two, but would it make sense to include more? Especially if you have several key phrases you're targeting.
